This particular image was one of the most dramatic scenes I have ever seen out on the Kalapana Coastline. Most of the time when hiking out to photograph the ocean entry because of how the lava was positioned on the coast and the way the steam plume would blow you could never shoot into the sunrise as it was normally at my back.
