Sedona, Arizona is a land of striking red rock formations, dramatic desert landscapes, and ever-changing light that creates a dreamlike atmosphere for photographers. Surrounded by the Coconino National Forest, this iconic Southwest destination offers endless opportunities to capture towering sandstone spires, winding canyons, and tranquil desert flora—especially stunning during golden hour. From sweeping vistas to intimate textures, Sedona’s diverse terrain makes it a playground for creative photography.During the workshop, we’ll provide hands-on instruction to help you master light, composition, and camera settings—all in a laid-back, encouraging environment where questions are welcome and laughter is mandatory. We believe learning photography should be as fun as it is rewarding! And the support doesn’t stop when the trip ends—we’ll help you fine-tune your post-processing skills so you can turn those raw files into wall-worthy masterpieces.
WORKSHOP SCHEDULE
November 11th– Welcome to Sedona!Check-in at the Holiday Inn Express begins at 3:00 PM. Once you’re all settled in, we’ll gather in the lobby around 3:45 PM for a quick meet-and-greet—just enough time to say hello, share some excitement, and get the creative vibes flowing. Then we’re off to chase our first Sedona sunset together! After capturing some magic, we’ll head to one of Sedona’s favorite local spots for a delicious group dinner, the perfect way to kick off our adventure.
November 12th, 13th & 14th– Let the Magic unfold each day brings a new opportunity to explore and photograph Sedona’s most iconic red rock vistas under the stunning glow of sunrise and sunset. We’ll be up and out early to catch that golden morning light, and if the skies are playing nice, we’ll extend our sessions into the late morning for even more dreamy captures.
Late mornings and early afternoons are yours to relax, grab lunch, review your images, or just soak in the scenery. We’ll regroup around 3:00 PM each day to head out for another round of golden hour magic—because in Sedona, the light just hits different.
November 15th– One Last Sunrise we’ll wrap up our adventure with one final sunrise shoot—one more chance to watch Sedona wake up and add a few last gems to your collection. We’ll return to the hotel around 9:30am, giving you time to pack up and check out by 11:00 AM.

Professional Photography Instructor- Led by professional photographer Nick Selway, this unforgettable Light Chasing Photo Tours Workshop is an experience you don’t want to miss. With over two decades of experience capturing breathtaking landscapes and guiding photographers of all levels, Nick is passionate about helping others grow in their craft while exploring the most stunning places on Earth.Nick creates a fun, relaxed, and supportive environment where you’ll feel comfortable asking questions about camera gear, settings, techniques, and composition. His hands-on approach ensures you’ll leave the workshop with both incredible images and new photography skills you can use for a lifetime.

Cost: Total cost for this tour $3595.00 Single Occupancy | 50% Deposit is due at the time of registration which can be completed at the bottom of this page
Included: Lodging/4 nights, Guiding, Photography Instruction, Transportation during the workshop.I will be renting a large luxury SUV during the workshop.
Not Included: Airfare, meals, transportation to and from the airport to hotel, gratuities for instructor.
Booking: The workshop will need to be paid in full 60 days prior to the day the workshop which begins on Nov 11th 2026. Refunds are not available after the 60 day mark unless we can find another person to fill your spot.

Travel-The nearest airports to Sedona
- Flagstaff Pulliam Airport, a 1hr drive to Sedona
- Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, a 2hr drive to Sedona.
- For transportation from airport to hotel and back you will need to rent a vehicle at either one of those airports.

🥾 Workshop Activity Level & Gear Recommendations
This Sedona Photography Workshop is designed for most fitness levels and offers a blend of convenience and light adventure. While the majority of our shooting locations are easily accessible, a few of the most spectacular spots will involve short hikes through mountain terrain with mild elevation gains—generally less than 500 feet.These short treks will reward you with remote, jaw-dropping vistas and intimate landscape scenes that are well worth the effort.
To make the most of your experience, here’s what we recommend bringing

We’ll always move at a relaxed pace, with plenty of time to set up, compose, and shoot. Your comfort and creativity come first—so bring your curiosity and let’s chase the light through Sedona!

To make the most of your Sedona workshop experience, we suggest bringing the following gear. These are tried-and-true tools that have consistently delivered the best results in the locations we’ll be exploring.
Camera Equipment
DSLR or Mirrorless Camera! Both are great options for the landscapes and light we’ll be working with.
Lenses & Gear
We recommend covering a range from ultra-wide to telephoto:
16–35mm – For sweeping landscapes and dramatic foregrounds
24–70mm – Versatile for just about everything
70–200mm – Perfect for isolating subjects and compressing scenes
100–400mm – Great for capturing distant peaks, intimate landscapes, and compressed light
A sturdy tripod is essential, ideally with a ball head or equivalent for flexibility in composition
Shutter release (cable or wireless) for long exposures and sharper images during low light
Extra batteries – The cold mornings and long shoots can drain them faster than you think
Plenty of SD cards or other memory (and backups!)
Lens cloths and cleaning tools – Dust and red rock can sneak in
Polarizer & ND filters (optional) – Great for managing reflections or experimenting with long exposures
