Every year at the beginning of October, I shoot Fall colors in The San Juan Mountain Range. This particular year, in 2018, was the best color had ever seen. My main goal was to photograph Mount. Sneffles located just outside Ouray, CO. The day before this, I scouted this location by hiking high up on a ridge-line, finding the most brilliant aspen grove I have ever seen. I came back the next morning when the sun came up and lit the beautiful, orange aspen grove in the foreground. I knew this was the moment to capture this timeless photograph of Colorado wilderness.
