The Big Island is a place of incredible contrast—from ancient lava fields and dramatic coastlines to lush rainforests, waterfalls, and towering volcanic landscapes.
After calling the Big Island home for 14 years, I’ve had the opportunity to discover its iconic locations as well as the hidden gems, quiet places, and incredible light that many visitors never experience.
Join me for a small, personal photography adventure limited to just five photographers, where we’ll slow down, explore, chase the best light, and create unforgettable images together. I’ll share the locations and knowledge I’ve gained over the years while providing plenty of hands-on instruction and one-on-one guidance along the way.
And just as important, expect a relaxed atmosphere, great company, and plenty of laughter along the way
BIG ISLAND WORKSHOP SCHEDULE
Our adventure begins August 19 at The Hilton Waikola.After check-in, we’ll meet in the lobby at 4:45 PM for introductions and a quick workshop overview before heading out to chase our first Hawaii sunset!
Each day includes sunrise and sunset photography, with locations chosen based on weather, conditions!
Daily Schedule
• 5:30 AM – Depart for sunrise
• 7:00–11:00 AM – Morning photography & breakfast
• 12:00 PM – Hotel break, naps
• 3:30–4:00 PM – Depart for afternoon & sunset photography
• Evening – Dinner, laughs
Daily meeting times and locations will be shared in our group chat. Most drives are 30–60 minutes each way in our luxury SUV. We’ll keep things relaxed, fun, and focused on great photography while making the most of Hawaii's tropical beauty. Our final sunrise shoot is August 24th, wrapping up around 9:00 AM. Hotel checkout is at 11:00 AM.

5 nights of lodging are included in your workshop fee. There is no need to contact the hotel directly—your confirmation reservation number will be provided after registration.The closest airport is Kona International Airport (KOA), approximately 20 Miles to Waikoloa.

Booking & Cancellation
A 50% deposit is required to reserve your spot, with the remaining balance due 90 days before August 19th.Your deposit becomes non-refundable 90 days prior to the workshop, unless we are able to fill your spot with another participant.
Transportation
All transportation to our photography locations is provided in a spacious luxury SUV, so you can relax and focus on creating incredible images.
What's Not Included
Airfare, meals, and transportation between Kona International Airport KOA) and the hotel.

1-on-1 Post-Processing Session
Your workshop experience continues after Colorado. You’ll receive a private 2-hour editing session where we’ll work through 3–4 of your favorite images together in Lightroom and Photoshop. We’ll cover my complete post-processing workflow and help you bring the most out of the images you captured during the workshop.
