With a small group limited to just 5 photographers, you’ll receive personalized, hands-on instruction while exploring some of the island’s most photogenic locations. Whether you’re looking to improve your compositions, master your camera settings, or simply capture the beauty of Hawaii, this workshop combines photography, adventure, and an unforgettable Maui experience.
MAUI WORKSHOP SCHEDULE
Our adventure begins April 7th at The Kamaole. After check-in, we’ll meet in the lobby at 4:45 PM for introductions and a quick workshop overview before heading out to chase our first Maui sunset!
Each day includes sunrise and sunset photography, with locations chosen based on weather, conditions, and where the fall colors are looking their best.
DAILY SCHEDULE
• 5:45 AM – Depart for sunrise
• 7:00–11:00 AM – Morning photography & breakfast
• 12:00 PM – Hotel break,naps,beach time
• 3:30–4:00 PM – Depart for afternoon & sunset photography
• Evening – Dinner, laughs
Daily meeting times and locations will be shared in our group chat. Most drives are 30–60 minutes each way in our luxury SUV. We’ll keep things relaxed, fun, and focused on great photographywhile making the most of Colorado’s incredible fall colors. Our final sunrise shoot is April 12th, wrapping up around 9:00 AM. Hotel checkout is at 11:00 AM.

Booking & Cancellation
A 50% deposit is required to reserve your spot, with the remaining balance due 90 days before April 7th.Your deposit becomes non-refundable 90 days prior to the workshop, unless we are able to fill your spot with another participant.
Transportation
All transportation to our photography locations is provided in a spacious luxury SUV, so you can relax and focus on creating incredible images.
What's Not Included
Airfare, meals, and transportation between Kahului Airport (OGG) and the hotel.
One of the highlights of the workshop will be hiking the Pipiwai Trail in Hana, a spectacular 3.8-mile round-trip trail that winds through lush rainforest and an incredible bamboo forest before reaching the towering Waimoku Falls. With approximately 900 feet of elevation gain, the trail offers amazing photography opportunities throughout the entire hike.
Recommended Camera Gear
- Camera — DSLR or mirrorless
- Tripod — Sturdy tripod with ball head or equivalent
- Shutter Release — Recommended for long exposures
- 16–35mm — Wide-angle landscapes
- 24–70mm — Versatile all-around coverage
- 70–200mm — Landscapes, details & compressed compositions
- 100–400mm — Distant landscapes
These lenses provide excellent coverage for the locations we’ll photograph, but you do not need to bring them all. Bring the gear you have and are most comfortable using. Don’t forget extra batteries and plenty of memory cards!
Sunset Above the Clouds
High atop Haleakalā, we’ll photograph one of Maui’s most unforgettable scenes as the sun sets above a sea of clouds. At over 10,000 feet, the changing light, dramatic clouds, and photographer silhouettes create incredible opportunities for truly unique images

1-ON-1 POST-PROCESSING SESSION
Your workshop experience continues after Colorado. You’ll receive a private 2-hour editing session where we’ll work through 3–4 of your favorite images together in Lightroom and Photoshop. We’ll cover my complete post-processing workflow and help you bring the most out of the images you captured during the workshop.
